Junion Theatre Festival

Acting Out! Has 20 students in grades 3-8 who are working every Monday to prepare for the Junior Theater Festival, held every year in Atlanta, Georgia. We have gone to this festival for the past four years, but we went as an elementary school. We have won 3 trophies! This is our first year as Acting Out! We are growing up and so excited to start this new legacy!

At JTF, over 100 groups, perform a 15 minute presentation of a Broadway Junior musical. There are various rules to how this must be done, but it is exciting to try to tell the story in such a short time. There is no makeup, costumes, set or props–another challenge. After JTF, we will post our performance and you can see how we did!

We will leave as a group for JTF on January 16. Follow our journey on our Facebook page–Acting Out! Louisville.

Here are some pictures of us hard at work with our directors and our Student Choreographer, Emily Thomas.  Emily is a senior at Manual High School and the Youth Performing Arts School and former member of our group! Our students love performing with her! She has to make time to work with us in between her own busy schedule as she is getting ready to perform in the YPAS production of Grease!
